(fantastically answered questions)
Why did you go to Utah State University to study Sociology?
Ah, I once wanted to work for the United Nations and thought Sociology would be important. Yeah, around that time, from age 16 to 22, I wasn't playing piano at all.
Then why did you decide to start playing piano again?
In my last semester in Utah, I started taking piano lessons for non-music majors because I had to use the rest of the credits to graduate. Then it became more fun and decide to go back to piano.
How did you like Sociology and what did you learn?
I liked Sociology a lot. I still do. What I learned? "Truth is made by agreement."
Why did you transfer to Albion College in Michigan?
My teacher at Utah State University got employed by the college, so I decided to move with him. Also I finished BA in Sociology then. You never know what changes your life. In Albion, I received lots of scholarships and I had many opportunities to perform. Teacher is more important than school name. I was glad to study with all the teachers in my life so far.
What is your favorite food?
I like mostly everything.
What is your non favorite food?
I don't like cucumbers. Why? I don't know. My friends Luis and Russ also can't eat them.
How did you learn English? You speak very well.
Ah, thanks. I learned the basics in Japan as required, and then I learned conversation after I came to the States. Fighting with my roomates and partying in weekends helped me A LOT.
What do you do if not practicing?
Drinking, sleeping, playing tetris... sometime. Ah, I am performing (most important!) Well, I go to my friends' concerts, art shows, and theater productions a lot.
What do you drink at bar?
I like Kirin (if they have one, which is rare.) La Fin de Monde, and Mojito.
Do you cook?
No, not really. I used to a lot when I was a high school student. I prepared lunch box for myself every morning before I go to school, and often prepared dinner for my family. Right now, I don't have enough time for shopping and cooking. It is such a pain anyway.
What do you usually eat?
Well, I really don't know... anything around here, such as pizza, take out Chinese food, ramen noodles, etc. I don't worry about food so much. You know, Jeremiah was fed by a craw. I am not picky about food in daily life- there are more important things to me. Of course I enjoy going to nice restaurant once in a while. I just don't have a time to sit down and spend a couple of hours in restaurant everyday.
What is your hobby?
I like making ceramics, knitting and cooking. I don't do much of them these days because I don't want to injure myself.
What is your most embrrassing moment?
Every day, I have something embarrassing... my life is all about embarrassment and repentance, I would say. Well, when I was a graduate student, I went to school in pajama once. No, of course I didn't mean it...
What is your plan after retirement?
First of all, I am note employed, so I don't know if there is such a thing like retirement for me, but if there is, I want to be a get-upper in Subway. What is this? You know, people fall asleep during the subway ride. I get them up when they need to get off. Especially at the Flushing-Main street stop, if you don't get off, you will be sent back to Times Sq. I am sure many people will appreciate my job.
One word for your audience?
